January 11 Buy Nothing Free Group at Free Bird Café – 12.30pm until 3.30pm - Welcome to chiang Mai’s first and only Buy Nothing in-person meet up! We meet the second Sunday of every month at Free Bird Cafe CNX, thrift store and donation center. Please come on time at 12:30 PM, and place your items around the room/or outside depending on weather, under the appropriate labels. Then, you just take whatever you want or need, no questions asked. The point of this meet up is to promote more sustainability, less waste, and a community that cares. Anything that is left over and not claimed, is donated to Free Bird Cafe’s donation center, where they sort, separate and pack items to be sent to refugees from the Civil War in Myanmar along the border, rural Thai villages, and construction worker camps in the city. The event is a comprehensive survey of many tracks on Doi Inthanon, which is important for scientific purposes. Chiang Mai Birders likes to show it's support and participate. We choose the specific tracks that we want to survey and then catalogue our sightings on eBird. We participated for the first time last year and it was most enjoyable.
