September 15 Chiang Mai Birders - Lanna Wild Bird Rescue Centre - Suthep 11.00am This is the place where injured birds come to be rehabilitated so that they can be returned to the wild. It is a great opportunity to see, up close and personal, birds you might only see at a distance in the wild. There are a number of owl species plus Shikra, a Crested Serpent Eagle, a Changeable Hawk-Eagle, parakeets and more. September 15 - 17 Chiang Mai Birders - Doi Inthanon Day 1 - Travel to Doi Inthanon with birding en route. Day 2 - 16th Doi Inthanon: Doi Inthanon covers a large area at varying levels of elevation and thus contains a number of different habitats. The intermediate slopes contain rainforest and the lower levels scrub and Dipterocarp forest. We will be sticking with the dryer lower slopes. The areas we might explore include: Mae Pan waterfall, km 13, khun wang, Siribhum waterfall amongst others. Khun Somchart will be deciding on the day depending on current sightings. Day 3 - 17th Mae Ping National Park Mae Ping is a beautiful dry Dipterocarp forest including some areas of mixed deciduous forest, evergreen forest and stands of bamboo. It contains a number of habitat specialists not found elsewhere and is renowned for woodpeckers. Number of Persons: Maximum of 8 persons. What to bring: Binoculars, raingear, sunhat, water, sunscreen, insect repellent, snacks. Guiding fee: Somchart Boonta, 8,500 baht including his accommodation. This will be equally divided equally amongst the participants. Accommodation: 2,000 baht per room for the two nights. Transport: Includes van, driver and driver accommodation. Not what the law says should happen to them, but what would repair the thing that got broken. Most of our justice systems answer with punishment.
